“You have power over your mind, not outside events. Realize this and you will find strength” – Marcus Aurelius
COACH KYLE ANTON SCHWAB
KID'S & ADULT JIU-JITSU
Kyle is a Tucson local and has lived in the area for most of his life. He possesses eight years of experience in BJJ and received his Purple Belt in August of 2020. He tried many other sports before getting hooked on BJJ and MMA. He wanted a sport that completely took his mind away from any stress going on in life at any time. “If your mind wanders while competing or sparring in these areas you will quickly realize it’s best to save the issues for later, ensuring you allow yourself some escapism. When you start, it’s important to learn how to control yourself when you feel like you have no control. After some time, you will realize that slowing down and learning to think under stress is better than trying to escape the threat. This knowledge will transform the way you react to things you believe are out of your control and face the issues you once thought of as uncontrollable, on and off the mat.”
Kyle wanted to coach because he loves to teach others the skills I have learned and see them progress through the different levels. “When you start, it’s important to learn how to control yourself during moments of extreme stress.” He has three Children aged 5, 7, and 11. “Teaching kids at a young age will help them grow up to be strong and resilient in life. Realize they have control of situations and build a strong level of confidence early in life. I teach my children this in many ways, including sports. It is imperative they learn how to fail and realize they can get back on their feet. My life is focused on this aspect and every action I take, Including growing my business next door to the gym called Casa Marana and finishing my MBA at Eller College of Management. Our children look at us and see the example of what a parent should be. I make it my life’s mission to set the best example for them”
“God has given each of you a gift. Use it to help each other. This will show God’s Loving-favor. If a man preaches, let him do it with God speaking through him. If a man helps others, let him do it with the strength God gives. So in all things, God may be honored through Jesus Christ. Shining greatness and power belong to Him forever. Let it be so.” 1 Peter 4:10-11
